Quite a distance to walk to the city centre. Water heater system was down half way through my shower. It was freezing cold. Response from reception was rather unfriendly when inquired.

I recently spent a great weekend at Holiday Inn York City Centre, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations! The hotel is in an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from famous attractions such as York Minster and Butcher Street, which is very convenient for tourists.
The room is clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is very good, so I rested very quietly at night. The staff is enthusiastic and professional, and they smiled from check-in to check-out, and also recommended restaurants and hidden attractions frequented by locals.
